If you love Puerto Rican food this is your place. They serve traditional dishes like arroz con gandules and pernil as well as Antojitos you ate in your abuelita’s kitchen like sorullos and rellenos de papa. The food is authentic Puerto Rican cuisine like abuelita made. If you’re looking for a fun bar, great cocktails and music this is also your place. My favorite bartender is Rico, he is always on point with service, the best drinks and a fun vibe. Capicu has an inviting atmosphere with beautiful decor representing our beautiful island. The walls pay tribute to La Reina de la salsa Celia Cruz y el Rey Tito Puente. Definitely a great place to dine, mingle and dance. There is a live DJ and great Latin music every night starting at 8 pm.

We had Tamarindo Mojitos super tasty, with alcapurria, Canoa de Maduro con Cerdo, Bistec Encebollado con Amarillos and Red snapper with Amarillos. Their fluffy Garlic bread was to die for sooooo good. Staff was super welcoming and very attentive. Angie our server was wonderful , made sure we were enjoying our food & drinks. If you’re in Middletown, skipping this spot would be a major mistake. I can’t believe it took me a week and a half to finally try Capicu, and now I’m lowkey mad at myself. With only three days left in town, best believe I’ll be back at least twice—Thursday for another dinner, and Friday to catch the weekend late-night vibe. Let’s talk about the food—elite. I had the Sweet Plantains and Chicken, and if you’re a fan of that perfect sweet-and-savory combo, this is the one. Magnificent doesn’t even do it justice. The chicken and rice? Also fire, and they don’t skimp on portions. Definitely one of the most fulfilling and flavorful meals I’ve had in NY. And the churros? Some of the best I’ve ever had. I skipped the ice cream due to dairy restrictions, but they held their own. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is just right—clean, welcoming, and the service? Top-tier. Special shoutout to Rico, the bartender, for making the experience even better. 10/10, no question. Do yourself a favor and pull up.
